Following the success of my rallies to Gambia and Mongolia, I've decided to take things a little further. This time I will be driving 20,000 miles overland to Australia. I'll be passing through Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and maybe even Afghanistan depending on the political climate.

I've chosen to support "No More Landmines" on this trip because they are a well run charity who work in many of the countries on my route; Bosnia, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Cambodia. As well as clearing Landmines they also provide support, including prosthetic limbs, to the victims of landmines. I will be visiting some of these projects en-route.

A big, reliable 4x4 would of course be the sensible choice for this trip which is why I'm taking a 40 year old VW Beetle. I find travelling in something a little more characterful helps win friends in foreign lands and the Beetle fits the bill perfectly, of course there may be a few reliablility issues to overcome in the back of beyond but thats all part of the challenge.
